Erik Wiegers is a graphic designer and illustrator. With over 25 years of experience and my own independent practice since 2010 (Studio Wiegers), I combine craft, concept and efficiency. I work hands-on, think visually and can quickly shift between creative directions while keeping the work clear and considered.

I work across graphic design, illustration and art direction, creating brand identities, data visualizations and infographics. My work focuses on bringing structure, clarity and visual impact to complex ideas, across both print and digital media.
Approach
__________________
My approach is hands-on and considered. I start by understanding the context and the question behind the brief, then work through ideas with clarity and care. I’m comfortable switching quickly when needed, while keeping focus on craft, structure and long-term value. Collaboration, clear communication and attention to detail are central to how I work.

Self-Initiated Projects & Concepts
__________________
Alongside commissioned work, I regularly develop self-initiated projects and concepts. These are ideas I explore independently, in collaboration with others, or by contributing to the early stages of new initiatives. They allow room for experimentation, long-term thinking and personal interests beyond client briefs. Over the years, this has included involvement in projects such as PrintMyRun, Staantribune Magazine, FamilyPeaks, Sketch The City, Metro Zutphen, and the children’s book Jaap Slingerschaap.
These projects often combine graphic design, illustration, storytelling and collaboration, and continue to inform my approach to commissioned work.
